Booking with Chicago Authors

We invite you to the Chicago Literary Hall of Fame’s year-end fundraiser, which is also the start of our capital campaign to raise $1 million for the longterm sustainment of our organization. Our work focuses intensely on Chicago as a city which produces, nurtures, and cherishes authors. Our authors do the work of helping us appreciate Chicago as an enormously beautiful and enormously flawed place, and to keep us directed toward its perpetual improvement. Our authors tell stories of our people, our neighborhoods, our history, and of course expand their vision well beyond the borders. For Chicago to be a literary city on par with New York, Paris, London, Boston, and Dublin, a whole ecosystem of eductators, librarians, administrators, booksellers, institution builders, editors and so on and so forth, must participate. The Chicago Literary Hall of Fame endeavors to constantly bring attention to this contemporary work, as well as highlight past and encourage future literary achievements. Everything we do is designed to build our community of readers and writers, and in so doing broaden our base of thoughtful citizens. 

At Booking with Chicago Authors, we’ll present a short overview of the Chicago Literary Hall of Fame’s work over the past 15 years, and then let you meet some of our most important authors. The evening will feature of a round of “Speed Dating,” in which participants will rotate to different tables to talk with our featured authors. There will be several short performances. Food and drink. Details of this important occasion are forthcoming.
