POSTPONED: RESCHEDULED DATE TO BE ANNOUNCED
Chicago, IL (Streeterville neighborhood)
The Great Chicago Books Club kicks off its 2020 calendar with another.....great Chicago book. Kathleen Rooney's O, Democracy! is not only a contemporary classic, but it touches on so many themes percolating in our political landscape. We'll get to enjoy plenty of social and discussion time with the author, as well as hearty appetizers and drink. While the discussion period will focus on Kathleen's novel, guests are encouraged to veer into other relevant topics. Kathleen is a highly accomplished and regarded poet, publisher, teacher, critic, journalist--in short, an amazing Renaissance woman--who'd be happy to answer any and all questions about any or all of that. The evening's host, Rita Dragonette, is an accomplished author in her own right, and an incredibly generous and graceful host. Her place is the perfect setting for this special evening, which is a fundraiser for our organization; registration is required. Your $60 registration fee helps to support the Chicago Literary Hall of Fame's other programming throughout the year, most of it free and open to the public. All you need to do is email or call (773.414.2603) Don Evans to reserve your place. Registration is limited to around 20 people; we'll close registration as soon as we reach capacity.
