The Chicago Literary Hall of Fame pilots its program to bring Chicago literature and writers to young people. This 10-week workshop, led by Jerakah Greene, is designed to inspire and instruct select Chicago Charter School students in the art and craft of creative writing. With a curriculm grounded in Chicago's great literary tradition, the workshop will encourage young authors to find their voices, execute their literary visions, produce meaningful work, and at the same time familarize themselves with a rich tradition of masterful writers ranging from Gwendolyn Brooks and Lorraine Hansberry to Alex Kotlowitz and Eve Ewing. This pilot program will set the standard for future workshops that will be offerered throughout Chicago.
